The Indigenous Country and Biodiversity Alliance works with Indigenous groups across Australia to identify key cultural and biodiversity values, the threats they face, and effective strategies to protect and enhance these values.
Through collaboration with Indigenous organisations, the four ICBA partners will develop pilot biodiversity projects that address these threats, protect cultural values and enhance biodiversity. These projects will develop robust and trusted Indigenous-led methods that may be incorporated into the Australian Government’s new Nature Repair Market.
At each pilot, ICBA will work with Indigenous organisations to:
Hear what is important culturally and environmentally
Identify the threats to those values
Develop and implement adaptive management strategies
Test new ways to measure change and impact across different scales
